GC-AED E-Mail Discussion List Information

The focus of this list is the Agilent Technologies GC-AED. The purpose of the list is to provide a medium through which AED users can easily exchange information and troubleshoot problems. It is up to the individual list subscriber to determine the value of the list through their active participation.

Important Notice: We have changed the List Server software for the AED Discussion List as of 6/9/99. New subscribe and unsubscribe commands must be used as described below.

Any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding the operation of the discussion list should be sent to the list administrator: admin@diabloanalytical.com

How To Subscribe To The List

Simply send an Internet E-Mail message to listserv@diabloanalytical.com with the following command in the Body of the message, where firstname and lastname are your real first and last names:

subscribe aedlist firstname lastname

How to Unsubscribe from the List

If you decide that you would like to remove your name from the discussion list, simply send an e-mail message to listserv@diabloanalytical.com with the following command in the Body of the message:

unsubscribe aedlist

Making Contributions to the List

You can contribute to the AED list by sending an e-mail message to aedlist@diabloanalytical.com. Your message will automatically be forwarded back out to all other members of the list.

General Comments and Cautions

Remember that any message you send to the list will be forwarded to everyone else that is subscribed. Therefore, you should use the list judiciously. Obviously, any personal or proprietary discussions should take place via direct e-mail, not through the list. Also, when you reply to a message from the list, your reply is sent to the entire list, not the originator of the message.

The AED Discussion List Library Archives

Each month all messages that were posted to the AED discussion list are archived. The monthly archives can be retrieved by e-mail or viewed on line using a web browser.

Obtaining an Index of Files by E-mail

You can obtain an index of files by sending an e-mail message to listserv@diabloanalytical.com with the following command in the Body of the message:

index aedlist

The index will be sent to you in the body of an e-mail message reply.

Retrieving a Particular File by E-mail

You can retrieve a particular monthly log from the archives by sending an e-mail message to listserv@diabloanalytical.com with the following command in the Body of the message

get aedlist logyymm

substitute the current year for 'yy' and the current moth for 'mm'. For example to retrieve the January 1999 archive, you would use the following command: get aedlist log9901

Point your web browser to: http://diabloanalytical.com/archives/aedlist.html

In addition to viewing the AEDLIST archives, you can use the web interface to post a message to the list, subscribe, unsubscribe, and change your personal subscription settings. Important Note: You must be subscribed to the list in order to gain access to the archives.
